Learn to Swim

Learn to Swim the Pentaqua Way

Our Learn to Swim Swim Academy offers high quality tuition led by inspiring and enthusiastic teachers who are passionate about teaching swimming. The Learn to Swim Academy has been developed to enable children to learn swimming at, and in partnership with, The Priory Witham Academy, Lincoln. We believe that learning to swim is an essential skill that everyone should enjoy. We aim to enthuse and inspire the swimmers of the future within a safe and structured learning environment.  All our qualified teachers hold Enhanced DBS checks, appropriate swimming teaching, rescue and safeguarding qualifications, First Aid certificates and insurance. The teaching team is overseen by the club’s head coach, Ian Turner, former Head Coach of British Swimming, and with a reputation for supporting high quality medal winning swimmers.

We want every swimmer’s time with us to be fun and informative and believe that creating a friendly atmosphere will help with learning how to swim and gain essential water skills.

There  can be a waiting list for our sessions, so it is important to register your interest early. We take children from age 4 upwards, and the timetable is targeted at swimmers aged up to 14 As soon as places become available we invite people, from our waiting list, to join an appropriate beginner or intermediate group. We cater for children of all abilities and lessons are provided at family friendly times - so come along and make a splash!

Once the basic swimming skills have been acquired, swimmers are able to further develop their techniques within the Improver Squads which also offer tuition in areas such as starts and racing turns.
